Wayne Dyer

Recently, I registered for a healing with a local medical practitioner. I did not know that one of her gifts was as a medium. I soon found out.

We greeted each other on zoom, calmed and centered ourselves. A few minutes in, she shocked me with these words. “Wayne Dyer is here.”

“He is?” I exclaimed. I allowed my heart to open and embrace him. Wayne had passed away seven years prior. Occasionally, I would think of Wayne. When I did, my thoughts instantly generated feelings of comfort and caring, as if he was popping in to see me.

The medium continued, her voice tinged with excitement, “He says he was your mentor.”

She looked at me, managing to stay in her open state. “Was he really your mentor?”

“Yes, he was,” I said. “Sometimes even now, I feel like he’s filling my heart with words of encouragement.”

She says to me, “Wayne says to tell you ‘Yes that’s me. Just like in real life.’”

My heart warmed, and I reflected over the years and our many interviews.  One of the most recent interviews was about his book The Shift, which pubbed in 2010.  Wayne had sent me his movie to watch, and, as usual, I read his book first.

The Shift reminded me of who I am, who we all are, really. Dr Wayne Dyer takes us from the stage of being nothing and everything — an aspect of Oneness — to the Ego, of Edging God Out, as he likes to say, to finding the true Meaning of Life. Wayne calls up the Scriptures, the beloved words from every culture, poets and philosophers.   He reminds us that when we are ready, we will see who our teachers are, and we will open to them.

Certainly, I am open to the fresh yet ancient words of Wayne Dyer.  He says we have a choice – between the ego and the authentic self.

Ironically, when, as a kid, I felt threatened by the lack of safety in my home, I would go into the white light. Technically, my mind chose to put me into a Freeze state, so as to make me safe. Somehow, I would travel beyond the Freeze state into a bright light. My ego vanished, I would slip into the space where Divinity lived. I would see and talk with the angels. I easily accessed that pure place, then and now.  As an adult, when I write or dance or I’m on the air, or when I connect with others, I slide into that sweet spot. And say hi to Wayne.

Wayne told me in interviews that it is not him writing. It is God.  No wonder I love what he says. Then and now.
